What it means to be a member of our Congregation

Membership in our Congregation:

This Christian congregation recognizes three classifications of membership.

 

Baptized Member

Baptized members are those who at any age have received Christian Baptism in the name of the Triune God and are under the spiritual care of this Christian congregation.

Communicant Member

Communicant members are those who have received Christian Baptism and are in communion fellowship with us, have received proper instruction in the Christian faith and are recommended to be received as communicants by the pastor or Board of Elders through transfer from a congregation in fellowship with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, profession of faith, or rite of confirmation.

Voting Member

Those communicant members in this congregation who have attained the age of eighteen (18) years and pledged themselves to faithful attendance at voters assembly meetings.

 

This Christian congregation makes available to all members:
 
  • facilities of this congregation for reasonable and proper use without cost;
  • pastoral services performed within this congregation with no fees or assessments for those services;

 

Each member of this Christian congregation is encouraged to:

  • grow in the Christian faith and life;

  • live a morally decent life before God and mankind;

  • give a witness to the Lordship of Jesus Christ;

  • provide for the proper training of the whole household;

  • contribute to the maintenance of the congregation and the extension of the kingdom of God at home and abroad;

  • place his/her God-given talents and abilities at the disposal of the pastor(s), officers, and agencies of the congregation;
